Lone Pine Creek- near Lone Pine

Description: Camp at any of the Whitney Portal area campgrounds, fish in the creek and gaze at Mt. Whitney. If you are over 55, do them one at a time. Rainbows planted weekly spring thru fall by DFG from sand trap on south side of Lone Pine to Whitney Portal.

Location: From Hwy. 395 in Lone Pine turn west on Whitney Portal Road (in town) to the creek.

Camping: Many choices in the Mt. Whitney area. Lake Diaz is just south of Lone Pine on Hwy. 395.
