Van Duzen River

Description: Primarily a salmon/steelhead stream with many restrictions and outright prohibitions on part of the river. Check the DFG website for particulars at www.dfg.ca.gov.

Camping: Van Duzen County Park. 30 sites for tents or RV's of any length, some with partial 30 amp hook-ups. Picnic tables, fire grills, drinking water and restrooms with flush toilets and showers. Some sites with wheelchair access. Reservations not accepted. Open year round. Grizzly Creek Redwoods State Park is in the neighborhood.

Directions: From Hwy. 101 south of Eureka at Alton, take Hwy. 36 east for about 12 miles to the campground, which is on the river.
