William B. Ide Adobe State Historical Park

Description: Mr. Ide was the only President of the Bear Flag Republic, the short-lived entity that followed the Bear Flag Revolt in 1846 that overthrew Mexican rule. His term limit was 22 days, when the U.S. took over. The park features the old adobe home, carriage shed, blacksmith shop and a visitor center. Located on a nice spot on the upper Sacramento River.

Location: From the San Francisco area take Int. 5 north to Red Bluff. From Red Bluff, drive Adobe Road .8 miles east from the Main Street intersection.
